Resist on the flanks
and hold the near center
The fulcrum where strength sleeps
yet never let go
of yourself. Let others impose solitude
on you while you absorb the joy of
It.
Resist the fools calling you a fool, wagging
their tales, tails, and tongues.
Few friends will praise your practice of durability,
except the four-legged ones you feed.
Resist violations of solitude from left
and right, but move your feet first
when others notice your small voice piercing their
silence.
Never stay put, nor burrow deeper in darkness.
Like seeds on the wind, hold
the center
at a distance.
