Répétez après moi
(”we can’t control who we lose. And we can’t spare ourselves the pain of it.”)
Reading time: only 2 minutes, but the picture below.
après moi,
tell me before I find out. Repetez, après moi:
Tell me before I find out.
Tell me BEFORE I find out.
My door is open, walk-in or walk out,
but walk back in.
Forgive me while I ingeminate from past phone notes,
but only the good ones:
I remained silent all morning, running the tips of my left hand in the seam of the space between her scapula and my full heart;
and kindness goes hand in hand with tenderness and generosity of body and spirit,
and it feels so good lying next to you in the morning.
Why are you stalling, Captain?
I don't want the game to end, and
we can’t control who we lose,
And we can’t spare ourselves the pain of it.
So, if my life can ever be helpful to you, come and take it.
Extend me some grace because we’re all just walking each other home.
Whilst I am formidable; hear me whisper:
“All things truly evil start which start with a disingenuous lie.”
People are more than their worst acts,
and they are also more than the worst thing ever done to them.
Saying nothing at all about me is an option that is permanently available to you,
and that I urge you to more frequently consider.
The same goes for tagging me into your thoughts.
Sometimes, it’s on a page.
