Yellow Roses

A poem, for Hannah, tu te souviens.

“Suppose I say ‘summer,’

Write the words ‘yellow rose,’

Put it in an envelope,

Take it to the end of the driveway to the tricolor box. When you open my letter you will recall

Those days because you have forgotten,

how much, just how much,

I loved you.

Then, remember.”
